Hay! Meet Meghan
Meghan founded Growth Edges in 2020 with a firm belief that “everyone has their own Growth Edges enabling them to be the person they want to be. Our experiences in life shape us and there is an opportunity to grow and learn around every corner. Whether it is through experiential learning with horses, viewing your lasting memories in a photograph, or building a bond with your horse through riding development.” Meghan embeds her love and passion for nature, kindness, and safer futures in all of her services.
Meg is a Social Worker accredited and registered with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) governing body. She is also an experienced Equine Assisted Learning practitioner certified with Equine Connection (2017) offering unique programs focussing on social-emotional skills, personal development, and professional development (leadership and team building) in a nature-based setting. Having recently completed training with the Equine Psychotherapy Insititue (2022) Meg offers Equine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions for children, teenagers, adults, families, and groups with a trauma-informed lens and understanding.
In her social work sessions, Meg is passionate about working with young people and adults who have experiences of trauma, mental health challenges, ADHD and other special needs and disabilities. She spent 5 years working across a number of sectors including Aged Care, Mental Health, Disability and Carer Gateway. She currently dedicates part of her time and passion to supporting student and staff wellbeing in a local Montessori school.
When not around horses she can often be found behind the lens of a camera. Passionate about photography since a young age, she has taken countless photos as she experiences life.
